ارتفع عدد الوظائف في القطاعات غير الزراعية بواقع 315,000 وظيفة خلال شهر آب ليتجاوز التوقعات عند 295,000 وظيفة ولكن ارتفعت نسب البطالة من 3.5% الى 3.7%، هذا وقد ارتفع مؤشر الدولار الأمريكي الى ما فوق مستويات 110.25 ليدفع الذهب الى ما دون 1,700 دولار للأونصة. وفي المقابل انخفض اليورو الى ما دون مستويات التعادل بالرغم من توقعات بأن يرفع البنك المركزي الأوروبي أسعار الفائدة بواقع 75 نقطة أساس.
